We all have a part of our past that we wished hadn't happened or would like to just forget. It's so hard to let go of certain things: hurt, disappointment, anger, people, or even mistakes that we've made.We hold on so tightly, sometimes because we aren't sure exactly how to let it go. Often times we are scared that by letting go, we will open up the door for more hurt or disappointment. We stand on the edge just waiting for the next person to come along and push us over. We let if affect our relationships with others, and let it hold us back from what could be the best things in our lives. It's hard to grab on to something in the future if we don't let go of some things in our past.
People will let you down from time to time. We will face disappointment and hurt. Someone you think will always be there will walk away. Let them go and if they come back and ask you to forgive them, forgive them The best way to look at it is that, at some point, we have let someone down, and we wanted them to forgive us for our mistake later. We are only human. We must realize that the best thing to do is forgive anyone that has done us wrong and forgive ourselves when we let ourselves down. Holding on to it will only hurt you more in the end, and letting go will only make you a happier person down the road.
